Save the Bay, a fabulous environmental nonprofit in Rhode Island, runs a Seal Watch tour from November – April. The boat launches from downtown Newport, making it the perfect activity after you’ve had a delicious breakfast or lunch at a nearby restaurant. The Seal Watch tour is led by an environmental educator and takes you towards (and possibly under) the beautiful Newport bridge and around the gorgeous and historic Newport harbor. Besides the seals, additional highlights include passing by the Rose Island lighthouse, fishing vessels, and Goat Island. Even if you are not a huge fan of marine mammals, the tour is a fun wintertime activity, and provides a unique perspective of the Rhode Island coastline.
{can you spot the seal noses?}
There was also that time we tried to help rescue a Gray Seal.
