The Botanical Building at Balboa ParkBalboa Park is 1,200 acres of museums, gardens, and open space overlooking downtown San Diego. The Botanical Building and its famous Lily Pond were built for the 1915-1916 World’s Fair Panama-California Exposition and it still stands as one of the  largest wood lath structures in the world. While Jeff and I were visiting family in San Diego, we stopped by the Botanical Building to wander around its collection of 2,100 plants. One of my favorite areas was the scented geranium garden where you can touch the leaves which release surprising aromas such  as chocolate, lemon, and mint. Delen, author of the gorgeous blog, Plant Propaganda is based in San Diego and she often explores nurseries and botanical gardens in the area so follow along if you’d like to see more!
