For years I’d been wanting to see the Wright Brothers National Memorial. I’m not quite sure why, but something about this windy, seaside monument always seemed a little romantic to me. I got a chance to visit when I flew down to the Outer Banks for a wedding on a beautiful and sunny early summer day. The Memorial is a National Park and features several exhibits about the Wright Brother’s historic flights, as well as full scale reproductions of their famous gliders and flying machines.
